Richard Hughes is the lead optometrist at this practice. Richard first came to West Wales in 1982 having graduated from UWIST. He is particularly interested in developing and broadening the scope of primary optometric care but does not forget - that a comfortable pair of spectacles which provide clear sight is our primary concern.
Richard, along with Heddwyn Davies, has a particular interest in Low Vision and was one of the first Optometric practitioners in Wales credited to supply low vision aids under the new Welsh Low Vision Assessment Scheme. Elin WIlliams (Welsh Speaker) and Heddwyn Davies (Welsh Speaker) and Ann-Louise Connolly also practice regularly at Lampeter supported by our reception staff Kath Hodkinson, Helen Davies, Mol Creamer and Carys Jones(all welsh speakers).
Ammanford

Heddwyn Davies is the principle optometrist at Ammanford. Heddwyn hails from Llandewi Brefi, a fluent Welsh speaker, who also graduated from Cardiff's School of Optometry. Heddwyn has keen interests in the pediatric and contact lens arenas. Heddwyn also has an excellent track record as a pre-registration optometrist supervisor in recent years, passing on his knowledge to the latest members of the profession. These include Elin Williams (also a Welsh Speaker) and Ann-Louise Connolly, who also practice here in addition to Lewis Richards and Richard Hughes. Our reception team includes Helen Thomas and Jane Vickers.
Llandeilo and Llandovery

Following the recent retirement of Graham Evans, Heddwyn Davies has taken the lead in Llandeilo and Llandovery is led by Richard Hughes. They have had to meet the challenge of succeeding their accomplished and well respected colleage. Richard said ‘ our aim is to build on the solid foundations that Graham has built over 30 years. We have introduced lots of exciting new stock and other innovations but our core philophesy remains the Evans & Hughes way.
They are aided by an excellent support team including; Optometrists Lewis Richards, Elin Williams and Ann-Louise Connolly, Reception Staff Kath George (Llandovery), Sam Archer (Llandeilo and Llandovery), Rhian Evans (Llandeilo) while our backroom staff include Liz Hughes, Claire Davies and Lyn Atkins (Accounts)
U.C Optical - Optical Laboratory

Our Laboratory technician at our Llandeilo premises is Steve Nowell. Steve has over 15 years experience in the optical industry and helps us to offer our patients a local fast high quality glazing service.
